Far Ings NNR 15/6/11

A grey and windy couple of hours or so there this morning. Everything seemed quiet on the bird front so the entertainment was supplied by a pair of Avocet which were hell-bent on attacking everything that came within half a mile!! The Swallows were around too with youngsters. I wish there had been a nice blue sky as a backdrop instead of that horrible white/grey cloud. Still, you cant win em all as they say :)
Strangely noted also is that all but 2 of the Bee Orchids have vanished mysteriously??
A Turtle Dove was heard purring away near the visitor centre too around lunchtime.

Shame I didnt get the whole of the Gull in this shot!
