Richard spotted a Water Vole today, was great to see one, its been months since I last saw a Water Vole on the patch. Only managed a record shot as he/she didnt come out completely into the open.
A pair of tiny coots were observed and one of them (as per the photo here) seemed quite intrigued at its own reflection!

Plenty of Reed Warbler still around the reserve and a few Lesser and Common Whitethroat were noted. Quite a number of Swifts, a couple of Sand Martin and a few House Martin and Swallows. We also had our first Ringlet butterfly of the summer.
