Common Waxbills
This was one bird we had hoped to catch up with during our trip and we weren't disappointed! We observed one bird flying to and from a probable nest site on the approach road to our hotel and thought that would probably be the only good sighting of one of these lovely birds. Luckily for us, one morning we were sat by a roadside puddle photographing House Martins collecting mud when to our surprise a pair of Waxbills came to drink and bathe - definately a case of " right time - right place!". We did see other birds occasionally either heard or seen flying over too. Delightful little birds!
